We value curiosity, creativity, resilience, and a genuine desire for intellectual and personal growth.

At KKII, we understand that choosing the right educational institution is a significant decision. We are committed to providing prospective students and their families with clear, comprehensive information to navigate the application process smoothly. We encourage you to explore our programmes and discover the unique opportunities that await you in the historic and inspiring city of Kyoto.

High School Admissions Entry into the KKII High School is designed for students who demonstrate strong academic potential and a readiness for a challenging and enriching international curriculum. We look for applicants who are inquisitive, motivated, and open to new experiences. Successful candidates typically present a strong academic record from their previous schooling, letters of recommendation that speak to their character and abilities, and a personal statement outlining their aspirations and reasons for wishing to join KKII. Proficiency in English, the language of instruction, is also a key consideration.

Undergraduate Admissions Admission to our Undergraduate programmes is competitive and based on a comprehensive assessment of each applicant’s academic background, intellectual promise, and personal attributes. We seek students who have successfully completed a rigorous secondary school education (or its equivalent) and can demonstrate the aptitude for university-level study in their chosen discipline. Key components of the application typically include official academic transcripts, standardised test scores where applicable, letters of recommendation, a compelling personal essay, and evidence of English language proficiency. We are particularly interested in candidates who show initiative, leadership potential, and a commitment to our institute’s values.

Postgraduate Admissions Candidates for our Master’s and Doctoral programmes are expected to have a strong undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and to demonstrate a clear capacity for advanced research and critical thinking. The application process for postgraduate study typically requires academic transcripts, a detailed research proposal (especially for doctoral candidates), letters of recommendation from academic referees, a statement of purpose outlining academic and career goals, a curriculum vitae, and proof of English language proficiency. We seek individuals who are passionate about their chosen field of study and possess the intellectual drive and discipline to contribute meaningfully to academic discourse and innovation.

International Applicants Kyoto Komore International Institute warmly welcomes applications from students around the world. We value the cultural diversity that international students bring to our community and provide support services to assist with the transition to studying in Kyoto. We assess international qualifications on an individual basis, often with reference to established equivalency frameworks.

We believe in the potential of every aspiring student and are dedicated to fostering an inclusive admissions process. Our aim is to build a community of learners who will thrive within KKII’s unique educational environment and go on to achieve great things.
