Kyoto Komore International Institute Launches Advanced Professional Development Programme in Hospitality Management to Cultivate Future Industry Leaders

Kyoto Komore International Institute is proud to announce the launch of a pioneering dual-degree professional development programme in hospitality management, designed to integrate advanced academic training with practical leadership skills. This initiative spans the institute’s graduate and university divisions and is tailored to prepare students for influential careers in the global hospitality and service industries.

The programme offers a unique, two-year curriculum combining study at the Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University, and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. Students will complete two semesters at each institution, engaging with core MBA courses in English and Japanese at Kyoto University, alongside specialised Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) courses taught in English at Cornell. This structure ensures a comprehensive understanding of both business management principles and the specific operational and strategic challenges of the hospitality sector.

Admission to the programme is highly selective, with an enrollment capacity of 20 students annually, reflecting the institute’s commitment to maintaining an intimate, rigorous learning environment. Applicants must satisfy stringent academic prerequisites, including completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent 16 years of education, and gain admission to both partner institutions. The programme’s curriculum requires completion of 42 credits at Kyoto University and 48 credits at Cornell, with credit transfer provisions fostering curricular coherence.

Beyond coursework, the programme emphasises experiential learning and cross-cultural competency. Students benefit from mentorship by industry experts, internships with leading hospitality firms, and participation in international symposiums. The institute supports these activities with a dedicated digital platform facilitating collaboration, resource sharing, and virtual engagement across campuses.

Scholarship opportunities are available to support outstanding candidates, underscoring Kyoto Komore International Institute’s commitment to accessible, high-calibre education. The programme’s launch represents a strategic advancement in the institute’s mission to nurture highly skilled professionals capable of driving sustainable and innovative growth in the hospitality and service sectors.

By integrating rigorous academic training with practical leadership development and international exposure, Kyoto Komore International Institute positions its graduates to become visionary leaders shaping the future of global hospitality.
